The Busiest Year for RORO

There is a lot of catch up since the March project in Australia. After finishing the flooding floors there for Costa Group through Van Der Hoeven we returned to the Netherlands for a small break from spending the first quarter abroad.

The next phase of the year were several projects in Canada. Over the spring ROROGreenhouses completed:

-In Serres Royal in Quebec, (Kubo) 3 hectares -In Serres Toundra in Quebec, (Kubo) 8 hectares + service areas

-Jem Farms in Ontario (Voorwinden Group) 4 hectares

-Demers in Quebec (Voorwinden Group/Havecon) 15.5 hectares

For the completion of these projects RORO deployed 2 teams (approx 10 professionals) in the months of April, May and June to deliver these projects on time and budget.

The 15.5 hectare project presented particular challenges for our team. Specifically, the amount of concrete poured was roughly 6000m3, which is an amount unheard of for any greenhouse foundation.

However, we were beyond pleased with how effective this project went due to the great cooperation and support from Voorwinden Group.

In addition to the unique size of this project (also 4000+ dollies and all the concrete) RORO built a retaining wall over 255m long and 5m high. Both the wall, and the 15.5 hectare project was completed in 6-7 weeks.

After a summer home, we returned to Canada and the United States for Voorwinden Group to work to complete:

-Beamsville, Ontario - 1.3 hectare with several interior walls

-App Harvest, KY - 12 hectare plus 1 hectare packing shed

For the remainder of the year, before heading back to Australia in January, RORO is relaxing in the EU with family. We're extremely thankful to the work of our outstanding team this year who adapted to the changing and quite complicated Covid procedures of each nation and made deadlines through the snow, flooding and long international trips.

My brother and I have an incredible team of professionals that we are proud of. This work is heavy, difficult and even moreso the preciseness leaves no room for error. We are grateful for the year, our crew, and we are confident we have the one of the best teams in the world.
