2022: RORO evolving greenhouse foundations into the future

Being comfortable adapting to new or different technology is necessary for foundation companies and really for any businesses who are focused on faster deliveries and adapting to the evolving needs of clients, safety regulations and quality standards - in many cases, new technology is also better for sustainability, leaving smaller environmental footprints.

In 2022, RORO has been busy of adapting to changing needs of our global partners. An industry standard for generations, the use of wood framing in the construction of foundation walls is today an nearly-outdated practise. Meters and meters of wood is used in the fabrication of frames which in many cases is immediately discarded, causing immense waste of an important natural resource that cannot be reused.

Without extreme care and expertise, wood framing can often result in less-straight walls due to the flexibility and pliability of the material. Building this type of frame can also be time-consuming when you want to ensure a high quality- adding weeks to projects that could be competed subtsatinstally faster, and more robust.

Evolving to more efficient technology, in 2022, RORO has added Doka formwork products to our provided services.

Doka products have been used in building for decades as a standard across the world in the construction of everything from bridges, hospitals, airports to skyscrapers and mines - adapted for their ability to be extremely accurate, cost-efficient and the most durable, while also complying with the most stringent requirements in terms of safety, quality and environment standards. Slowly, they are being introduced into the greenhouse world as they can provide numerous benefits:

Benefits of Doka Systems:

Safety -Safer vertical access with integrated ladder systems

-Workplace safety on all sides with integrated pouring platform

-Smart accessories make for safe, easy handling of the formwork

-Extensive safety and workplace accessories such as plumbing accessories, working platforms and self-aligning panel connectors

Quality -Superior clean and smooth concrete finish

-Robust, co-ordinated panel formats result in neat joint patterns that are more durable and more attractive

-Smaller number of (expensive) closure zones, due to the consistent 15 cm increment grid

Environment

-Long lifespan achieved by quality hot-dip galvanised steel frames

-Higher numbers of repeat high numbers of repeat uses made possible by its excellent manufacturing quality

Client Savings

-Savings passed to client as projects completed substantially faster due to self-aligning panel connectors (mean that no extra stiffening reinforcements are required

-Neat negative frame-imprints in the concrete minimise finishing-work as walls are automatically smoother, more accurate and more durable

Adopting new technology involves time, effort, and expertise from global experience. By working in numerous countries, we have been fortunate to be introduced and exposed to innovation-leading companies like Doka and we are excited to bring this quality product to greenhouse foundations, retaining walls and loading docks across the globe.
