Phase 1: After 2 years of predominately working in Europe, Australia and Canada, we were looking forward to our return to the USA. Arriving from Australian summer, which was about 40 degrees, we landed in NY State to EXTREME weather conditions where the temperatures dipped -18 and there was over a foot of snow and also 2 feet of frozen ground. Quite a contrast to our January!
We pride ourselves in the ability and diligence to handle such conditions, but it doesn't come without strategy, planning and a lot of hard work. To complete this project, just as it is needed in Canadian winters, we used a 24 ton excavator and a very specialized auger bit that is necessary for breaking through the thick frozen ground.
With weather and ground elements being one of the most critical components to foundation construction, we managed to complete this project on time with the cooperation of the Voorwinden Group, finishing 13 hectares of foundation in under 6 weeks.
