A Year in Review

Edmonton, AB

With the conclusion of 2016, Robert and myself here at RORO Greenhouses are very grateful to report a year of immense growth, a year of innovation and an exciting new opportunity: being a small part of a new huge market, the world's largest Cannabis greenhouse for Aurora Cannabis in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The year for RORO started right away in January with 15.3 hectares in our home of the Netherlands. 2016 had us completing walls an impressive 2.7 meters high, as well as foundations, floors and rainwater systems in 8 countries, a total of 50+ hectares, 12x the amount of our first successful year in operation.

Highlights of the year include the utilization of 3 A –frame foundations for Kubo in France. This innovative design is undoubtedly the future of greenhouse construction as it optimizes the usage of space for the grower, allowing for extra cultivation.

It is always an initiative of RORO Greenhouses to be constantly growing and adapting to be in the forefront of industry growth and technology, we were pleased to be a part of these particular projects.

These special dollies require extra attention when it comes to measurements and elevation. We did 3 hectares, 8 hectares, and 2 hectares this year, becoming one of the first contractors for Kubo to implement this system successfully. All three greenhouses are successfully in operations today.

Across the globe in Australia, we finalized the start up of our Australian company, RoRo Greenhouses PLY. After having successfully accomplished some big projects over the last couple years, the largest being 17 hectares for Dalsem (Maria Veggie Farms). It became a major goal, and great achievement for RORO to set up an official operating business in the country. As of early 2016 we had permanent materials and machines ready for projects and with the increasing growth happening in Australia, RORO is looking forward to returning down under in 2017.

Growth in 2016 saw us work with new manufacturers, adding both van der Valk & Kleijn and Gysi Bergglass to our list of clients. For these partners we completed one of the most unusual foundations to date for us. This particular foundation consisted of walls varying from 1.2 meters to 2.7 meters high a special task due the exceptional height.

Our last project of the year which will lead us into 2017, is the construction of the foundation for Aurora Cannabis via Kubo, just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This world class 7 hectare project expected to be completed in 2017. RORO Greenhouses broke ground on Friday, December 9th.

RORO Greenhouses has sent equipment and materials to Canada for this project, with the anticipation of them remaining in the country, and we hope in 2017 to officially set up business in Canada.

Thanks to all our clients, partners and staff for a great year & happy holidays!

-Ronald & Robert
